Ski-moutaineering pleasure in an exceptional mountain area with Italian savors
Highlight ski-mountaineering in the surroundings of the Forni glacier belongs to the most beautiful high mountain courses of the Alps. The huts are cordial and comfortable and offers a various range of summit objectives.
Description:
Sunday: Meeting at 9:45 a.m. at Coire station. Transfert with the mountaineering school bus via Julier and Bernina cols towards Caterina-Valfurva and gone up to the refuge Cesare Branca, 2487m (8,159 ft). Evening meal and explanation about week courses, equipment distribution and avalanches sensitizing, detection equipment and safety regulations on glacier repetition.
Ascent duration approx. 1 hour 30.
Monday to Friday: The following 5 days, according to weather forecasting, snow conditions as well as participants capacities, we will have the opportunity of climbing following summits in Stilfser national park:
- Pizzo Tresero, 3594 m (11,791 ft), with a remarkable sight on all the Ortler massif and Cevedale. Ascent duration approx. 5 hours
- Punta San Matteo, 3678 m (12,067 ft), impressive glacier route for this ski-mountaineering summit. Ascent duration approx. 4 hours 30
- Palòn des la Mare, 3703 m (12,149 ft), interesting ski-mountaineering course on the highest summit around the Forni glacier. Ascent time approx. 2 hours
- Monte Pasquale, 3553 m (11,657 ft), Ideal summit objective for a transition toward the the Pizzini-Fràttola Hut. Ascent duration approx. 5 hours
- Monte Cevedale, 3769 m (12,365 ft), Very appreciated course with a spectacular summit sight over the Ortler mountain massif. Ascent duration approx. 6 hours
- Cima Pale Rosse, 3446 m (11,306 ft), directly at the bottom of Königspitze, an ideal course to conclude this pleasant week. Ascent duration approx. 5 hours
Friday: After the last course, return together with the mountaineering school bus towards Coire and end of this ski-moutaineering week in the middle of afternoon.
Included in the price:
Nights as well as half-board for the duration of the stay, guide fees. The transport costs and room supplement for Alpin Club non-members are not included.
Accomodation:
We are lodged 3 nights in Cesare Branca Hut, Tel. 0039 0342 93 55 01 and 2 nights in Pizzini-Fràttola refuge, Tel. 0039 0342 93 55 13. Huts are equipped with rooms and showers.
